What Is Medicare?

Medicare is health insurance for people age 65 or older,
under age 65 with certain disabilities, and any age with
End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). ESRD is permanent kidney
failure requiring dialysis or a kidney transplant. The different
parts of Medicare help cover specific services if you meet
certain conditions. Medicare has the following parts:

Important Dates To Remember

October 1^st
You can start getting Medicare Advantage Plan Information for premiums and benefits.
November 15^th thru December 31^st
This is the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP). During this time, you can make changes to your existing Medicare health or prescription drug plan or select a new plan.
January 1^st thru March 31^st
You have an additional, yet more limited, ability to make another choice, if eligible. This is the Medicare Open Enrollment Period (OEP).
